Almost all drug store brands of box color contain Metallic compounds. The problem with metallic based dyes is they do not mix well with any other chemicals when applied to your hair. If you decide the raven black box color you just applied to your hair isn't all you dreamed it would be the process of lightening your hair is a long one. The chemical reaction to mixing bleach to hair that has been colored with a metallic dyes can be detrimental to the integrity of your hair. Your hair can melt off like cotton candy if you do not take the appropriate steps to remove the metallic hair dyes properly. On top of that, the overall condition of your hair will be brittle and dry if not recovered correctly. We recommend seeing a professional to begin the removal process of any at-home box color.

This beautiful lady had been box coloring her hair for years. Her hair had broken off in many places due to the chemical reaction from bleach and metallic compounds. After doing a Malibu treatment on her to remove all the build up we were able to lift her hair to a beautiful blonde sandy blonde. We gave her a good deep conditioning treatment and cut to even out some of the breakage her hair turned out beautiful. ❤️
